Warrior Drama earns “Excellent” at 2026 Far East Drama Festival
DAEGU, South Korea – Warrior Drama delivered a standout performance at the 2026 Far East Drama Festival, earning an Excellent rating, the second‑highest recognition awarded at the event. Competing alongside 12 high schools from across the Pacific, the team demonstrated skill, creativity, and the collaborative spirit that defines the Warrior community.
This year’s production, Death of a Dead Guy, offered students an opportunity to stretch their artistic abilities both on stage and behind the scenes. From character development and comedic timing to technical direction and set coordination, students applied a wide range of college‑ and career‑ready competencies that align with DoWEA’s commitment to providing a well‑rounded, rigorous education. Their performance highlighted months of preparation, problem‑solving, and peer‑to‑peer coaching, all essential components of a high‑quality drama program.
Warrior Drama’s achievement reflects the environment of trust, perseverance, and shared responsibility cultivated within the group.
“At the heart of our program is the belief that strong relationships and teamwork make great performances possible,” said Warrior Drama Coach Emily Hatch. “When students feel supported by one another and are willing to lift each other up, that’s when truly meaningful work happens on stage.”
Judges praised the cast’s cohesive ensemble work, dynamic pacing, and thoughtful interpretation of the script.
Beyond the accolades, the Far East Drama Festival provided a platform for students to connect with peers from across the region, exchange ideas, and grow as young artists. These experiences strengthen students’ confidence, communication, and ability to collaborate, skills that support success not only in theatre, but in academics and future career pathways.
