DAEGU, South Korea — What began as an ordinary round of golf quickly turned unforgettable for 12-year-old Taelyn Fortune. Standing on the tee box, nerves blending with focus, the seventh grader lined up his shot, visualized the ball’s path and committed to the swing. The ball launched cleanly, arcing through the air before taking a single bounce and rolling straight into the cup—securing a memory that will last a lifetime. In that moment, Taelyn became the youngest person ever to record a hole-in-one at Evergreen Golf Course.

The achievement took place Oct. 1, 2025, during the Pacific-West High School Golf Tournament at Evergreen Golf Course on Camp Walker. Representing Daegu Middle High School, Taelyn hit his ace on the sixth hole using a 6-iron, completing a feat many golfers pursue for decades without success.

Witnesses say the shot stood out the instant it left the club.

“The second the ball left the clubface, you could just tell it was special,” one observer said. “Then it disappeared into the hole, and we all went crazy.”

For Taelyn, the moment marked more than a personal triumph. It became a point of pride for his team, school and community—proof of what can happen when preparation meets opportunity.
